No Carbon Required or NCR means that you can print a single copy of something and then find duplicate or carbon copies on the pages underneath.
The NCR system works by pressing down on the first copy, either using a pen or a printer which makes a physical impression.
Nowadays with Inkjet and Laserjet printers very common NCR is redundant for the most part, however there are occasions when it is still more convenient to have an exact carbon copy (NCR) than to print two or more copies of the same paperwork.
This is where No Carbon Required or NCR printing comes into its own. However, you will need a dot matrix printer which makes a physical impression on the page and therefore marks the copies underneath as well.
NCR printing is commonly used for items like invoices and delivery notes where someone can signature the top copy and the duplicate is identical. This is also useful where you need a carbon copy of the actual signature mark.
